Off The Clock exists so workers can share what it's really like inside a company — and so job seekers can make informed decisions. These guidelines keep the platform trustworthy, professional, and safe for everyone.
What we encourage
- Honest workplace experiences. First-hand accounts from your own time at the company.
- Constructive feedback. Specific, fair criticism that helps both workers and employers improve.
- Professional reviews. Focus on the role, the team dynamics, compensation, leadership, and culture.
- Balanced perspective. Real pros and real cons — almost every workplace has both.
What is prohibited
Reviews containing any of the following will be removed and the contributor may be banned:
- Harassment of any individual, group, or company.
- Threats of violence, retaliation, or harm of any kind.
- Personal attacks on coworkers, managers, or executives. Critique behavior and decisions, not people.
- Doxxing. Do not share home addresses, phone numbers, personal emails, or any private identifying information about anyone.
- Sharing confidential company information. No trade secrets, internal financials, customer data, source code, or anything covered by an NDA.
- Posting personal information of employees. Do not name individual coworkers. Refer to roles (e.g., "my manager," "the regional director") rather than names.
- Hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory content.
- Spam, advertising, or content unrelated to a workplace experience.
- Reviews you were paid, coerced, or instructed by an employer to write.
Anonymity & safety
Reviews are anonymous by default. Do not include details — your full name, exact start date, unique project codes — that could identify you to your employer. Protecting your anonymity protects your livelihood.
Enforcement
Every review is moderated before it appears publicly. We may remove content, request edits, or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines. See our Content Moderation Policy for details on how decisions are made.
